About Pollamus

Hi there! This is the founder of Pollamus typing! So, what is Pollamus? Pollamus is a debate and polling platform with two main goals:

  1. To gather a general consensus on political discussions.
  2. To find solutions to political issues by collecting and analyzing diverse ideas.

At the time of writing this, the website is still new, and many updates and features are in progress. Below, you'll find a list of planned updates and features I'd like to implement.

Why I Created Pollamus

Honestly, I'm getting tired of social media thriving on hate, addiction, and controversy. The idea behind Pollamus is to tackle controversial issues while promoting reasoning, emotional intelligence, and knowledge—without stirring unnecessary hostility.

I also recognize that people's views and ideologies evolve over time. Pollamus incorporates this by allowing users to see their past comments, posts, and votes, making it easier to track personal growth and shifts in perspective. I plan to expand on this feature in future updates.

Planned Updates

  • Spam Moderation: Right now, I manually remove spam comments, debates, and upvotes. I plan to create a system where flagged content is moved to a separate page, where users can vote on whether it should be reinstated. (This could actually be pretty entertaining!)
  • Color-Coded Debates: Different colors will represent different debate topics or authors. This will help prevent multiple debates on the same topic and designate "official" debates, ensuring all votes are concentrated in one place.
  • Verified Users: I’m considering an optional verification system, where users can verify their identity through various methods. They’d still have usernames, but their real name would be visible on their profile, adding credibility to discussions.
  • Monetization: To keep the site running, I need to find a way to generate revenue. I could even create a special "Pollamus Debate" where users can discuss how best to monetize the platform.
  • Profile Descriptions & Comments: Users will be able to post a description about themselves, explaining their votes and changes in opinion. Additionally, I’d like to add a comment section on user profiles where others can engage with them directly about their perspectives.

So, those are just a few of the updates in the works! Now it’s time for you to jump in—start voting, debating, and shaping the future of Pollamus!
